Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
A Year of Gratitude (“we,” “us,” “the app”) is a daily gratitude practice created and run by Lena Mazzuca. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the care we take to protect it — especially the private words you write.
The short version
We collect only what we need to deliver your daily practice. We never sell your information. And your journal entries are private even from us — the tools we use to run this product cannot show us what you’ve written.
What we collect
- Account details — your first name, email address, the time zone you’re in, and the morning time you choose for your email.
- Your journal entries — the reflections you write in the app. These are stored so you can return to them (see the privacy promise below).
- Payment information — your purchase is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded and a reference ID.
- Activity we need to run the service — for example, that an email was sent, or that you saved an entry on a given day (including a word count, but never the content of what you wrote).
Your journal is private — even from us
The reflections you write are yours alone. Our database enforces that each person can only ever read their own entries, and the admin tools we use to operate the product are built so they cannot display the content of your writing. Not to Lena. Not to anyone. (Your entries are stored on secure servers but are not individually encrypted in this version; we’re telling you that plainly rather than over-promising.)
How we use your information
- To deliver your daily reflection, email, and journal.
- To calculate which day of your personal year it is.
- To send you the emails you’ve chosen to receive, and to let you pause them.
- To provide support and process refunds if you request one.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data. We share it only with the trusted services that make the app work, and only to the extent needed:
- Supabase — secure database and account hosting.
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- Resend — delivers your emails.
- Stripe — processes your payment.
Each of these providers has its own privacy and security practices. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Cookies
We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Keeping your entries, and archive mode
You can export your journal entries at any time during your year. After day 365, the app moves to “archive mode,” where you can still replay any reflection and read any entry, for as long as the app is operational.
Your choices and rights
- You can export your journal entries at any time.
- You can pause your daily emails while keeping full access by signing in.
- You can ask us to delete your account and your data — just email us (below).
Children
This app is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, let you know by email.
