Day #305: Word frequency

I am always grateful for the opportunity to geek out. Ever since I was hired to find the frequency of the word “miracle” in English usage, which was a matter of finding the definitive source for admission in court, I have been hooked on “word frequency.” It’s fascinating stuff and there are more sources now than there were 30 years ago when I pursued that search (which was helped by a librarian at the Minneapolis Public Library). Here’s a fascinating glimpse at word frequency bubbles. Before you watch, can you guess the three most commonly used words in the English language? Put your guesses in the comments.
